The northern city of Astara exported dairy products worth over 100,000 dollars through land border to Russia in the Iranian month of Dey (Dec 22, Jan 20), head of Astara Veterinary Department said.
The shipments consisted of 22,871 kg of cream cheese, 1,728 kg of cream, 205 kg of desserts worth 102,000 dollars, Bahram Pour Zarb told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
628 tons of cream cheese, 1,740 kg of cream, 144 tons of trout, 163 tons of powdered milk, and three horses were also exported to Russia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, he said.
Astara is a city in the northern province of Gilan Province. It lies on the border with Azerbaijan Republic and on the Caspian Sea.
