The meeting between the two ministers took place on the sidelines of the Moscow meeting called "Moscow International Security" on Wednesday.
Iran's ambassador to Moscow, Mehdi Sanaee, also attended the meeting, where both sides examined the expansion of mutual, regional and global cooperation.
The meeting between the two ministers after 40 years, Dehghan said, adding that there are adequate grounds in various sectors leading to the expansion of cooperation between Iran and Brazil.
Recognizing Brazil's significant constructive role in regional and global equations, as well as taking a positive stance to support Iran's peaceful nuclear activities, it called for this ideal opportunity to be developed to expand cooperation across sectors.
The Brazilian Defense Minister, for his part, considered the meeting very valuable and called for the expansion of all relations between the two countries.
He also called for the exchange of information and experience in various fields, such as the fight against terrorism.
The Iranian minister also conferred with a number of counterparts from other countries on the latest developments in the region as well as the fight against terrorism.
