The existence of the historical monuments especially the multiple fortresses of the remote times demonstrate the resistance and valor of the people of the region before the enemies. It is convenient to know that the province of East Azerbaijan has many beautiful lakes, its largest is in the city Maragheh and Hasht-rud. The most important lakes is the Qareh Qeshlagh, Gol Quri, Alma Goli, Ghoballo, Mahiabad, Lanigh-Goli, and Gosha-Goli.
The Qareh Qeshlagh lagoon, located in the southeast of Lake Urumieh, has a good environmental situation and a suitable habitat for regional terrestrial and migratory water birds, as well as other animals.
The Quri-Gol lagoon at a distance of 40 kilometers west of the city of Tabriz is a suitable habitat for waterfowl, mainly white-headed ducks. These two lagoons are registered internationally.
The fortress of Kharaba Deiraman (Destroyed Mill) is one of the beautiful landscapes in the Persian territory. Located 135 kilometers north of the city of Tabriz in the border region of Jolfa, there is a very nice valley called Kharaba Deiraman. Jolfa has its own climate, usually the temperature is high, with hot winds; A less green region. At the bottom of the valley flow a river where fig trees grow. Also, the river that runs through the high and low of the mountains of Arasbaran created great and small waterfalls and wonderful waterfalls that embellish the region and much appreciated by visitors.
The scenery and the monotonous sound of the water fall are very pleasant and attract many nature lovers. Previously, in this region was an aquatic mill that operated with the force of the water of this same cataract, but, at the moment, only remains of the mill, for which the region is known as the Destructed Mill.
