In this post, we will introduce the tall green mountains of Shanad, and also visit the tourist village of Kandowan.
The natural attractions of the province of East Azerbaijan are not limited to what we have shown until now. The protected area of Arasbaran is one of the ecological places laid out by UNESCO, an eco-tourist spot, which annually welcomes many national and international tourists.
The large riverside area bordering the Aras River in northwestern Iran was called Arasbaran, but today, due to different reasons such as forest destruction is limited to the borders of cities Kalibar and Ahar.
This protected area covering more than 80,000 hectares, located in northwestern Azerbaijan, lies between three major rivers: Aras in the north, Eganeh Chay in the west and Kalibar Chay in the east, which are still linked to the south, To the heights of Saigram.
Arasbaran, as an ecological landscape, is one of the unique social, political, economic, historical and regional structures of Iran, this is due to the natural characteristics, climatic and national tribal customs, and it is distinguished from other places of the province of East Azerbaijan.
Since 1971, this region is considered protected by its economic, social and cultural situations and due to the extinction of the variety of fauna and flora. Different species of plants, forests, trees such as maple, species such as sumac, Zereshk (Berberes), wild pomegranate, apple and wild pear increase the plant and fruit richness of this forest region. Today more than 1300 species of plants are found in the protected areas of Arasbaran.
It should be remembered that the importance of this region depends not only on the characteristics of the environment and its environmental potential, but also on the historical heritage and its cultural heritage.
The existence of the historical monuments especially the multiple fortresses of the remote times demonstrate the resistance and valor of the people of the region before the enemies. It is convenient to know that the province of East Azerbaijan has many beautiful lakes, its largest is in the city Maragheh and Hasht-rud. The most important lakes is the Qareh Qeshlagh, Gol Quri, Alma Goli, Ghoballo, Mahiabad, Lanigh-Goli, and Gosha-Goli.
The Qareh Qeshlagh lagoon, located in the southeast of Lake Urumieh, has a good environmental situation and a suitable habitat for regional terrestrial and migratory water birds, as well as other animals.
The Quri-Gol lagoon at a distance of 40 kilometers west of the city of Tabriz is a suitable habitat for waterfowl, mainly white-headed ducks. These two lagoons are registered internationally.
The fortress of Kharaba Deiraman (Destroyed Mill) is one of the beautiful landscapes in the Persian territory. Located 135 kilometers north of the city of Tabriz in the border region of Jolfa, there is a very nice valley called Kharaba Deiraman. Jolfa has its own climate, usually the temperature is high, with hot winds; A less green region. At the bottom of the valley flow a river where fig trees grow. Also, the river that runs through the high and low of the mountains of Arasbaran created great and small waterfalls and wonderful waterfalls that embellish the region and much appreciated by visitors.
The scenery and the monotonous sound of the water fall are very pleasant and attract many nature lovers. Previously, in this region was an aquatic mill that operated with the force of the water of this same cataract, but, at the moment, only remains of the mill, for which the region is known as the Destructed Mill.
