Greetings to all the esteemed readers and interested in the series Come with us to Iran. In the previous posts, we show the city of Western Azerbaijan situated in the northwest of Iran and we know the capital of the province, the city of Urumieh.



On today's ppost we will continue our journey in this province and introduce you to the city of Takab. We invite you to join us.
The city of Takab is one of the cities of the province of Western Azerbaijan located in the southeast of the province that has its common borders with other three provinces: the one of Zanjan, of East Azerbaijan and the one of Kordestão. Takab in common with other regions of Western Azerbaijan is an agricultural area. The fertility of land and sufficient water have developed agriculture in this region. Wheat, barley, legumes, and vegetables, apple, and grape, apricot (apricot), etc. Are the most important products of Takab. The large fertile fields of the city of Takab also extended to the livestock of the region, several types of animal products are the main products of this city. Beekeeping is one of the most important crafts of the inhabitants of this region. Takab is a region where there are dozens of pre-and post-Islamic historical works, The Throne of Soleiman, among others, which is situated 45 kilometers northwest of the city of Takab. The remains of the great Firehouse of the Sasanies called Chance-Goshasb and the ancient castle Saro-qor-jan and also the great mosque of Takab. By the importance of the Throne of Soleiman, next we will present this world heritage.
The Soleiman throne is one of the most important and famous historical places of the civilization of Iran and in the world, in addition, it is considered as the fourth historical monument of Iran that has registered in the list of the world heritage of UNESCO. The inhabited religion has an antiquity of three thousand years. The historical complex with a surface of 124 thousand square meters was the place where at different times the Medes, the Ashkanians, the Sasanies and the Mongols were housed. The historical monuments from the archaeological point of view as in the written documents are situated in northwestern Iran which has become a totally exclusive ensemble. The Throne of Soleiman, in fact, are the remains of a large castle, where it includes historical monuments of the time of the Sasaníes such as the mansion of Fire of Chance-Goshasb.
This historic oval-shaped castle is on a higher level than the surrounding areas and is protected by a large, solid wall almost 4 meters thick and has 38 defensive towers. The monument belongs to the time of the Sasaníes but, in the time of Il-Khanian (century XIII) recovered the walls destroyed. The Manor of Chance-Goshasb Fire was built in this place as one of the most respectful temples of that era, which from the sovereignty of Il-Khanian hereinafter referred to as the Throne of Soleiman. In the center and in the southern part of the castle, there is a beautiful lake that has the half-oval shape. The water from the lake comes from the fountains at the bottom. The lake measures 120 meters long, 80 (meters) wide and 65 meters deep. The leftover water falls from the canals in the outskirts, which serves agriculture because it contains several minerals. Along with the monuments of Sasanies, you can also observe in this area the remains of the monuments of the Mongol era that carry plaster decorations and glazed tiles. The variety of Islamic tiles of the Throne of Soleiman is so large that they can be classified at different times. But the most prominent enamel tiles are those with blue, turquoise blue gold backgrounds which are designed with a drawing of mythological animals like the Simurgh and the dragon.
The historical complex of the Throne of Soleiman before Islam was one of the greatest centers of social, religious, and cultural teachings, where the Persians also prayed. But in the year 624 Christian was destroyed in the invasion against Iran by the emperor of Rome, Heraclius. Along with the historical and varied beautiful and magical monuments of the Solemn Throne area, there are also hot springs which have healing properties that are beneficial for curing skin diseases and rheumatic pains. Hot springs, as well as valuable historical works, annually attract thousands of people to this region. Taking into account that the Throne of Soleiman is located in a high mountainous region, the winters are prolonged, it is very cold and snows quite, also, the summers are cool, by which spring in the first half of summer when the whole region is covered Of green, is very pleasant and so it is a great season to visit this region.
The Jame de Takab Mosque is also a historical monument in the city of Takab, which is more than 100 years old and is listed on Iran's national list. The mosque was founded according to documents in the year 1332 (1914) under the command of Commander Hossein-Ali-khan Afshar at the time of the sovereignty of Naser-al-Din, king of Qajar and local architects.
The roof of the mosque is covered by a ceiling in the shape of a cradle. The old room of the mosque has a gallery made up of circular brick columns and stone finishes.
