In the previous matter had talked to the province of Fars, located in southern Iran, in general, it was a mountainous region, whose mountains are part of the extensive range of Zagros, stretching from the northwest to the south of the country.



However, the height of mountains in the province of Fars is reduced gradually to form large hills, but of little height. This topography in this region, precipitation of rain, caused the varied climatic conditions and a wide diversity of plants and animals of the region.

Such biological diversity has created one of the most beautiful national parks of Iran, known as "Bamu." Given the importance of this park from the tourist point of view and ecotourism, we decided to give them to know this beautiful park, the first part of our program today.

The park "Bamu" is situated in the northern province of Fars, northeast of the city of Shiraz. It is divided into two zones: the Eastern and Western which are divided by the Shiraz-Isfahan road. The park "Bamu" is located 5 Km from Shiraz. Initially in 1963, the park "Bamu" with a maximum extent of 100 000 hectares, was considered a region of prohibited hunting. Simultaneously with the increase in population and the development of the city of Shiraz, its size was reduced and almost six years after the date referred to in the early seventies, were made in an environmental protection area, a few years later he came to be regarded as a national park. Currently your area has more than 40,000 hectares and includes three mountain ranges that extend in parallel in the direction from east to west. The highest peak of this park is located on the mountain "Bamu" with a height of 2700 meters, which can be clearly seen in the city of Shiraz.

Among these mountains, there are also narrow plateaus which can be seen a considerable number of gazelles. In the hills of the mountains are also a large number of sheep and sheep. Based on studies, it was located in the National Park "Bamu" 32 types of mammals, 91 species of birds, 19 types of reptiles and three types of amphibians. It should be noted that 18 types of protected birds, six kinds of birds in danger of extinction and four types of protected mammals are found in this park.

Special features of the rocks of this park are also a "habitat" safe for wildlife.

A pleasant climate and frequent rainfall has led to the formation of a well-diversified vegetation in the national "Bamu" park. There are different types of flowers that grow in the park in the spring are in abundant Amapola and Tulip across the region of Shiraz and create a beautiful panorama for its diversity of colors and broad range. So far it has been detected in the park over 300 different types of plants which possess pharmaceutical properties. The vegetation of the park has created a suitable environment for the population of gazelles, sheep, sheep and goats. There are other types of animals such as panthers, wolves, hyenas, cats forest and jackals who lead a comfortable life in this environmental park. They are also a variety of birds and birds such as the sparrow, and the golden eagle. flocks of sparrows can be seen anywhere in the park.

The diversity of wildlife and plants as well as natural landscapes, is one of the strengths of this park that lead to the attraction of tourists and an ecotourism enabling environment in the region. Because of its natural wealth and its short distance to the scientific centers, this park has become a suitable place for conducting scientific research in the botanical field and zoology. In addition, the national park "Bamu" is a very attractive place, where many families spend their weekends enjoying the beauty of nature and its pleasant climate.

Dear listeners, in the second part of today's program, we will talk about another unique ecosystem of Iranian nature, in the province of Fars, called "the Bakhtegan Lake". This lake is part of Bakhtegan National Park. Since 1968, Bakhtegan has been considered a protected area due to its ecological importance and, years later, changed their status to the national park. This national park, with more than 117,000 hectares, is located also in Fars province. The average elevation of 1560-2480 meters, the annual rainfall is 330 mm, and the average annual temperature is 15 degrees centigrade. Such conditions makes the Bakhtegan National Park "has a temperate climate and arid at the same time.

In the north of the park are situated the lake Bakhtegan and some mountainous areas, where the wildlife refuges. The lake water is sweet in desague rivers, but is salt inside. The lake Bakhtegan, with a depth of 3 meters, in the years when it rains a lot, it mixes with the lake Tashak and together create a larger lake. All kinds of aquatic species such as seaweed, often growing in the lake. In the dry part of Bakhtegan National Park, some trees grow like almonds. The islands in the middle of the lake are also suitable places as a transit point for many migratory birds. For this reason, international bodies consider the "National Park Bakhtegan" as an important habitat for these birds.

In this region there are also different types of animals such as goats, sheep, sheep, panthers, flamingos, ducks, white pelicans, vultures and turtles. The wide variety of food in the water of this lake has caused considerable presence of a special type of shrimp called Artemia. The various biological and environmental characteristics, with its beautiful nature, have become the "National Park Bakhtegan" in a suitable place for scientific, research and tourism.
